General Information for both Alder and Tolles Students

Dear Alder Seniors and Parents,

      Congratulations on making it to your senior year! We hope your year is filled with learning, preparing for your future, and lots of fun. We would like for you to be as informed as possible about the senior events for the Class of 2019. We are including most of the information below. Some other ways we will pass along information include:
      · posting information on the school’s website
            ---go to high school, then clubs and class information, then senior class
      · announcements made at school
      · signs posted at school
      · Instant Connect system--check the district web page to add student numbers or additional contacts.
      · graduation information will be shared in the May edition of Parent e-News.

Alder Students

IMPORTANT DATES FOR THE CLASS OF 2019
ALDER STUDENTS WHO ATTEND JAHS


 

September 3rd   Yearbook orders begin--Early Bird rates through Oct. 31st save $5.  Please see Mrs.

Zimmerman for details.

September 11th  Class Meeting at 9:20 AM at the high school

Items to be discussed:

  • Our first cookout will be Oct. 12th.  The cost is $3.  Mr. Carpenter and Mr. Lorson and the class officers will collect the money and sign students up between Sep 18 and Sep.28.

  • Senior Service Day information. Oct. 10th, see below.

  • Fall T-shirt orders will be taken through Sept 21st. Cost is $15. See a class officer to order.

  • Please see a class officer with any ideas you have for class gift, class colors or class motto.  These items will be voted on at the next class meeting.

October 10th Raising money for Plain City Holiday Baskets for the needy. Seniors will take pledges for    

             Bowling at Sawmill Lanes. 9:00AM—12:20PM. Minimum $20 is due by October 5th along

with signed permission slip. Emergency medical form must be on file. We cannot take you

without both of these forms.

October 12th     Senior cookout for those students who paid. Occurs during their lunch period only.

October 18th      Class Meeting at 8:30 AM

Items to be discussed:

  • Mr. McKay will be here to explain graduation announcements and cap and gown orders.  He will return during lunch on November 1st , December 5th and on January 24th to collect orders.

  • Seniors will vote on class motto, class flower and announcement style.  If you miss the meeting, please see Mr. Lorson or Mr. Carpenter the following day.

November 1st       Mr. McKay will be here during lunch to collect graduation announcements and cap and gown orders.

December 5th       Mr. McKay will be here during lunch to collect graduation announcements and cap and gown orders.

December 14th   Portraits and Ads for Grads are due. Please see Mrs. Zimmerman for details.

January 18th --February 1st T-shirt orders for the senior signature shirt will be taken by class officers and Mr. Carpenter and Mr. Lorson.  

January 18th    Yearbook orders are due. Please see Mrs. Zimmerman for details.

January 24th     Mr. McKay will be here one more time during lunch to collect graduation announcements and cap and gown orders.

April 1st-30th  Mr. Lorson and Mr. Carpenter will be collecting money and signing up students for the Senior Trip to Cedar Point.  

May 10th – Class Meeting right before the cookout.  End of year activities will be discussed.

May 10th –Senior Cookout.  Periods 5a-5c. There is no cost.  Caps and gowns will be distributed to the students.

May 20th   Awards Assembly for seniors at 7pm at the high school. (You should receive notice if you need to be present.) Business dress required.

May 22nd  Senior Trip to Cedar Point.  Dress for the weather, and bring spending money as students are responsible for their own meals.  Buses will leave the high school at 7 am and return at 10:30 pm. Students not attending the trip will attend school that day. (Ticket must be purchased during April).

May 23rd   Mandatory Graduation Practice at 10am. A light breakfast is served from 9:30-9:50am. If you work in the morning, let your supervisor know you'll be late. Practice usually lasts until about 11:45am if all cooperate.

May 26th    Jonathan Alder Graduation. Seniors should arrive no later than 1:30pm. Graduation begins at 2pm.

Tolles Students

Items to be discussed:

  • Our first cookout will be Oct. 12th.  The cost is $3.  Mr. Carpenter and Mr. Lorson and the class officers will collect the money and sign students up between Sep. 18 and Sep. 28.
