I have been the Executive Director for Learn4Life since July 2011. Learn4Life is a central Ohio cradle-to-career entity formed by the efforts of local Columbus leaders in the corporate, philanthropic, community, civic and government areas. Learn4Life will connect and convene local stakeholders in an effort to enhance the success of youth in early childhood education through high school graduation, into postsecondary certificate attainment and career placement. The long range impact of L4L will help build a vibrant work force and thriving community.

I was formerly the CEO of Directions for Youth and Families January 1993 through July 2011. As CEO of Directions for Youth and Families, he oversaw an agency that annually serves over 6,000 kids and families through an array of treatment, prevention and education programs. I have 5 years of experience in administering community mental health and substance abuse programs for the City of Cleveland and the Mills Center in Marysville. I have also worked extensively with substance abusing teens and severely mentally disabled clients.

I received a BA from Kent State University and Master of Science degree from Youngstown State University. I currently serve on the Jonathan Alder School Board. In the past, I have served as Chair of the Human Service Chamber of Franklin County, a member of the Governor’s Task Force on Juvenile Justice, the Ohio Attorney General’s Victim of Gang Violence Task Force, and the Ohio Department of Mental Health Cultural Competency Assessment Team.

I live in Plain City with my wife and have four children, all who graduated from Jonathan Alder Schools. I have lived in the district for 23 years and have served on the School Board for 9 years. My interests include golf, basketball, and vacationing.
