As shared this morning during the JA emergency meeting of the Jonathan Alder School Board, all schools will remain in Pathway 1C 100% - Online Learning through Friday, December 18, 2020.
The decision to remain 100% remote is based on the need to provide safety and consistency for our students, families and teachers combined with Madison County Public Health Department’s most recent advisories and orders. Making another sudden change in our Education Pathway in such a short period of time creates additional anxiety and stress for all involved. We believe it is best to slow down the decision making process so that we can continue to make well-informed plans for our students and schools moving forward.
We understand the tremendous difficulties this pandemic has forced upon all of us and has challenged our flexibility and resolve. As you know, we want more than anything to open our buildings and have students in our classrooms on January 4th, but we need your help. Your continued cooperation in adhering to the safety protocols are paramount in helping to limit the spread of Covid within our community. Please wear a face mask, practice social distancing, and eliminate gathering together.

As we have learned over the past several months, all of our plans are subject to change based on evolving conditions, data about the status of the pandemic, and updates, guidance and orders received from public health and government officials.
On behalf of the Board and administration, we would like to simply say THANK YOU for your support and flexibility as we continue to navigate the ongoing challenges associated with the pandemic.
