JA Latchkey has been a cornerstone of the Plain City Community for over five years, providing a safe and enriching environment for children to learn and thrive. Our team is dedicated to fostering the growth and development of each child in our care, ensuring they receive the individual attention and support they need to succeed. We take pride in our commitment to safety, education, and community and are honored to be a trusted resource for families throughout the area. Whether you need before or after-school care or seeking a fun and engaging summer program, JA Latchkey is here to help your child reach their full potential.
Please note that JA Latchkey is an independent business not operated by the Jonathan Alder School District. We are a separate entity, licensed and insured to provide before and after-school care and other educational programs and activities. While we work closely with the district to ensure a safe and supportive environment for our students, we are not affiliated with the district in any official capacity. We take great pride in our commitment to providing high-quality educational services to the Plain City community. We are dedicated to upholding the highest professionalism, safety, and integrity standards in our operations.
Hours of Operation
Morning Session: 6:45-8:40 AM
Afternoon Session: 3:25- 6:00 PM
At JA Latchkey, we prioritize education over recreation in our curriculum, focusing on fostering our student's love of learning and intellectual curiosity. Each week, we select a theme to guide our programs and activities, incorporating math, science, cultural studies, and cooperative learning lessons to ensure a well-rounded educational experience. Our lessons are designed to be engaging and fun, with each topic paired with a related activity that reinforces the lesson and keeps students motivated and excited to learn.
We also recognize the importance of reading and dedicate 10 minutes daily to silent reading, encouraging our students to explore various genres and develop their reading comprehension skills. In addition to our regular programming, we offer a variety of special events throughout the school year, including cultural celebrations and guest speakers.
During the winter months, we provide specialized courses in robotics, sign language, Young Rembrandts, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). As technology continues to be a leading area of global development, we strongly emphasize STEM education as an integral part of our curriculum, equipping our students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in an increasingly technological world.
