November 12

Attached you will find a Public Information Release (PIR) from the Madison County Public Health Department notifying  all districts in Madison County to reduce school’s capacity/class sizes by 50% beginning November 30, 2020.

As a result of this directive, beginning Monday, November 30 our K-4th grade students attending Monroe and Plain City Elementary Schools will shift back to 50% Capacity in the  Pathway 1B Hybrid Plan. The A/B student groupings established at the beginning of the school year will remain the same once the K-4th grade students return in the Hybrid Plan. Our Elementary schools will be sharing more specific information, reminders and updates regarding their respective student groupings and schedules as we approach Thanksgiving.

At this time, students in grades 5-12 attending Canaan Middle School, Jonathan Alder Junior High and Jonathan Alder High School will remain at 50% Capacity in Pathway 1B - Hybrid Plan.

Please know we recognize the unique challenges and difficulties this pandemic has forced upon our students and families.  This is not the direction any of us want. However, we are thankful for everyone’s efforts to follow the health and safety protocols put in place by our state and local officials. It is critical to remain diligent so that we can provide the greatest possible academic sustainability and consistency for our students as we continue to strive for full-time in-person learning.

We will continue to provide updates through district and building level websites, emails, and newsletters.   You may also visit our District’s website to review the Madison County Health Case Contact & Quarantine Guidelines,  and our COVID-19 Dashboard.

All of our plans are subject to change based on evolving conditions, data about the status of the pandemic, and updates, guidance and orders received from public health and government officials.
