2021-2022 School Year Academic Calendar

Jonathan Alder is fortunate  to have parents, teachers,  staff and a community who have provided unwavering dedication, patience and flexibility over the last year as we navigated the many challenges associated with COVID-19.   To that end, we are committed to supporting all students in the learning gaps created by the pandemic.  We know that identifying strategies to support our students in their learning  recovery, while driving positive academic progress is  going to be critical in helping our students achieve success into the future.

On Monday, September 13, the Board revised the Academic Calendar for the 2021-2022 school year. This year we will be utilizing a small number of scheduled Remote Learning Days as a strategy within our Learning Recovery Plan.

During the Remote Learning Days each building will provide students with opportunities to learn at home in meaningful ways outside of the traditional school setting.  This may include time dedicated to working with a teacher through Zoom, completing work independently, or collaborating on projects.  In addition, these days will provide our teachers time to engage in structured collaboration with an intentional focus on data, student supports and interventions for all learners.  As the year progresses, we will continue to evaluate the utilization of Remote Learnings Days to ensure this strategy is meeting the needs of our students.

We recognize that the Remote Learning Days are an investment of time and resources for all involved, yet critical in responding to the academic and social-emotional needs of our students.

We also recognize that while all students and families have been impacted in some way by the pandemic, not every student is in the same place emotionally or academically.  The path forward is different for each student and family and we are dedicated to making the 2021-2022 school year the best experience for all of our students.
