The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Central Ohio, today, Thursday, September 3, 2026. With temperatures and the heat index expected to rise, Jonathan Alder Local Schools is taking additional precautions to help keep our students and staff safe.

Throughout the day, our schools will monitor conditions and encourage students to stay hydrated and take opportunities to cool down as needed.

Outdoor activities, including recess, will be adjusted based on the heat index. Recess will be held indoors when the heat index reaches 103°F or higher.

For students participating in athletics or other extracurricular activities, coaches and directors will communicate directly with families regarding any changes to practices, competitions or other activities.
