Message from PCES Administrators
Dear Plain City Elementary School Families,
It is an honor to welcome all of our Plain City Elementary students and families to the 2026–2027 school year! At PCES, we believe in creating a learning environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally. Mr. Haman and I are excited to continue serving as your leadership team again, and are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside our incredible students, families, and staff in the Jonathan Alder Local School District.
To our families, WELCOME BACK HOME! Your partnership, support, and trust are invaluable to us, and we look forward to another year of growth, learning, and memorable experiences together. Starting any new school year can bring a mixture of excitement and uncertainty, but please know that our caring and dedicated staff are committed to ensuring every child feels welcomed, supported, and connected from the very first day.
As we begin this school year, we are excited to introduce Stephen Covey's The 7 Habits of Happy Kids as a foundational framework for building leadership, responsibility, and positive relationships among our students. Through these habits, students will learn important life skills such as being proactive, setting goals, prioritizing responsibilities, working collaboratively, listening to understand others, valuing differences, and continuously growing as learners and leaders. Our goal is to empower every student to recognize their strengths, make positive choices, and contribute meaningfully to our school community.
In addition, we will continue our district-wide commitment to developing the skills outlined in our Portrait of a Pioneer: Work Ethic, Collaboration, Creativity, Problem Solving, Communication, and Community. These future-ready skills help prepare students not only for academic success, but also for success in life as engaged citizens, leaders, and lifelong learners. We believe that when students develop strong character, leadership habits, and essential skills, they are better equipped to navigate challenges and make a positive impact on the world around them.
Safety remains one of our highest priorities at PCES. We are committed to maintaining a secure, supportive, and nurturing environment where students can focus on learning, building relationships, and reaching their full potential. Through ongoing safety practices, staff training, and strong partnerships with families, we strive to create a school where every child feels safe, valued, and cared for each day.
As we begin this school year together, we invite you to partner with us through open communication, collaboration, and a shared commitment to helping every child succeed. Let us approach the 2026–2027 school year with kindness, optimism, perseverance, and a commitment to excellence, knowing that together we can make this year one filled with learning, growth, leadership, and AWESOME experiences for ALL students.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns, suggestions, or needs. We are here to serve and support our students, staff, and families.
Respectfully,
Kathy Savage, Principal
Adam Haman, Assistant Principal
