Message from PCES Administrators
Dear Plain City Elementary School Families,
It is with great excitement and warm hearts that we welcome all of our Plain City Elementary students and families to the 2025–2026 school year! We hope this message finds you ready for an incredible year ahead. At PCES, we believe in nurturing a learning environment where every child can thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally. Mr. Haman and I are thrilled to return this year as the leadership team. It continues to be an absolute honor to serve the Jonathan Alder Local School District and the amazing Plain City community.
To our returning families—WELCOME BACK HOME! Your continued partnership and support mean the world to us, and we look forward to seeing the growth and success of your children in the year ahead with new parent volunteer opportunities and family experiences. To our new families, WELCOME HOME!! We understand that starting at a new school can bring a mix of excitement and uncertainty. Please know that our compassionate teachers and staff are here to make your child feel supported and at home from the very first day.
We are proud to share that PCES was recognized as one of the Hall of Fame Schools by the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators (OAESA) in 2025—an honor awarded to only 11 schools across the entire state. This distinction reflects the strength of our staff, the spirit of our students, and the unwavering support from our families and community.
As we head into another amazing year, we will continue to build on the positive culture established through our Energy Bus for Schools curriculum. Students will continue learning and living by the five Energy Bus rules, empowering them to stay positive, act with purpose, and support one another every day.
In alignment with our district’s “Future Ready” vision, we are committed to developing the essential skills outlined in our Portrait of a Pioneer: Work Ethic, Collaboration, Creativity, Problem Solving, Communication, and Community. These skills will help ensure that all students are equipped to lead successful, meaningful lives, now and in the future.
Safety remains a top priority at PCES. We have implemented thoughtful protocols to ensure a secure, nurturing environment where students can focus on learning and growing.
As we begin this new school year together, we invite you to partner with us through open communication and shared commitment. Let’s embrace the 2025–2026 school year with kindness, grace, optimism, energy, and determination, knowing that together, we will make it a year full of learning, growth, and AWESOME experiences for ALL!
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions, suggestions, concerns, or needs. We are here to serve our staff, students, and families.
Respectfully,
Kathy Savage, Principal & Adam Haman, Assistant Principal
