National Spanish Examinations

Jonathan Alder High School students have once again earned national recognition for their achievements in Spanish language studies through outstanding performances on the 2026 National Spanish Exam (NSE).

This year, Jonathan Alder students earned five silver medals, five bronze medals, and 17 honorable mentions in the prestigious national competition. More than 83,000 students in grades 6–12 from across the United States participated in the exam, making these accomplishments a significant honor.

The National Spanish Exam is administered annually by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese and is recognized as the largest Spanish language assessment program in the country. Students who earn medal distinctions may also qualify for scholarship opportunities through the program.

Congratulations to all of the students who participated in this year’s competition for their hard work, determination, and commitment to mastering the Spanish language.
