On October 8th, the Jonathan Alder Junior High library turned into a vibrant hub for career exploration as innovative 7th and 8th graders met with top industry professionals. The students, all members of the Innovation Intervention Cohorts, hosted a distinguished panel from Team Fishel, Pebble Construction, and Elford Construction.
The session successfully bridged classroom theory with real-world application, directly supporting the students' construction units.
The diverse panel provided a comprehensive look at the modern construction and infrastructure sectors:
Representatives from Team Fishel highlighted the essential role of utility construction, detailing their work installing fiber cabling for major national data centers, including those supporting AWS.
The owner of Pebble Construction, based locally in Plain City, shared his inspiring entrepreneurial journey, explaining how he transitioned from working in the field to successfully owning and operating his own company.
The team from Elford Construction offered insights into large-scale building projects, particularly education facilities, such as the additions completed at nearby Dublin Jerome and Fairbanks Elementary.
The successful event marks a highlight in the current quarter for the Innovation Intervention Cohorts, underscoring the district’s commitment to providing unique, high-value learning experiences for its students.
