The Jonathan Alder Class of 2034 is proving that you’re never too young to make a big impact. This year, our 4th graders partnered with Mainstreet Treasures, a local apparel shop in Plain City, on a project that combines school spirit, community pride, and a little bit of good old-fashioned fundraising.
Their goal was simple but meaningful: make sure every incoming kindergartner at Monroe and Plain City Elementary starts the school year with Alder gear. No student should feel left out on Spirit Day, and thanks to the 4th graders’ efforts, every kindergartner received a brand-new Alder-branded t-shirt to wear with pride.
To fund the project, the 4th graders rolled up their sleeves and got creative. Together with Mainstreet Treasures, they began selling bright, noisy cowbells, just the thing for cheering at high school football games, parades, and soccer sidelines. The cowbells were an instant hit, bringing plenty of energy to the stands while also fueling a project that strengthens school pride from the very beginning of a student’s Alder journey.
What started as a service project turned into a community celebration. The Class of 2034 not only raised the funds to outfit our youngest Pioneers, but they also showed what happens when students, local businesses, and families CONNECT for a cause.
Thanks to these 4th graders and the support of Mainstreet Treasures, the Alder tradition of spirit and togetherness is ringing louder than ever, one cowbell at a time.
