Bruce Hooley and his wife, Sheri, have lived in the Jonathan Alder School District since 2002. A professional opportunity arose in 2010 to relocate to Cleveland, but Bruce chose to live Monday-Friday in Cleveland and return home on the weekends because the family treasured its friendships in their local church and their daughters' experiences in JA Schools and via both travel basketball and the Jonathan Alder Youth Soccer Association.

Sheri Hooley was the first girls varsity soccer coach at JA and also coached the Pioneers girls golf team for several seasons, with two of the Hooleys three daughters playing on the team.

Bruce's desire to join the JA School Board arose from his immersion in curriculum and other issues impacting schools in Ohio and across the nation during COVID. He hosts a daily news-talk radio show in Columbus, sells flooring for Soft Step Carpet and is also the Central Ohio marketing manager for PressProsMagazine.com, drawing on his experience in media and sales from a 30-year career at the Cleveland Plain Dealer, ESPN Radio and Fox Sports Radio.

He believes the role of a school board is to focus on improving student outcomes, as well as preserving and protecting both parents rights and the values and support Jonathan Alder Schools have always received from the community. Bruce is excited to join a board that, in his view, has done an excellent job hiring dynamic administrative leadership, outstanding teachers and selfless staff members committed to prioritizing students' success in academics and extra-curricular activities.
