Junior high students with central ohio business leaders

Seventh and eighth grade innovation intervention students were treated to another career chat on January 14th, with representatives from a number of Central Ohio businesses. A recent focus of the group was the Future-Ready Industry of Logistics

The career chat featured three speakers from the Worthington Steel Supply Chain Team. They spoke about their roles, including sales and operations planning, purchasing raw materials, managing inventory, conducting risk analysis, recruiting, and more. They shared the importance of identifying the type of culture and workplace that you would prefer to work in.

Additionally, students heard from a representative from Ease Logistics, who discussed the role of transit in our economy. He shared the role automated systems play in the movement of goods through their transit and warehousing systems.

Lastly, students enjoyed hearing from a Regional Health, Safety, and Manager with DHL Supply Chain. Students learned about the vast role DHL plays in moving consumer goods around the world and saw how robotics enhance, but may not replace, human roles in the supply chain.

Each of these unique speakers spent time highlighting elements of our Portrait of a Pioneer and how these skills are essential to success in their various fields. Our students had a great time listening to and speaking with these special guests.
